The Wildcats took down Oregon 4-1 in the teams’ last meeting. Arizona won the doubles point with two quick wins, including a 6-2 win by Jonas Ziverts and Jay Friend over the nation’s then-No. 12 duo of Josh Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele. In singles the Ducks were able to get on the board with a win by retirement on court six, but it was all Wildcats from there. Dominique Rolland, Gustaf Strom and Nick Lagaev each tallied singles victories to claim the team win.
In the Rankings
The Wildcats remain in the top ten nationally, checking into the rankings at No. 10. Smith checks in at No. 20, and Friend continues to be ranked 30th nationally in singles. Strom rounds out the Arizona singles rankings at No. 75. Smith and Friend are ranked in doubles at No. 29. Oregon is in the team rankings at No. 57 and is represented in the singles rankings by Vandecasteele at No. 83, and Vandecasteele is ranked in doubles with Matthew Burton at 46th.
