Zdrubecka Earns B1G Sportsmanship Award

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State women’s tennis senior Dagmar Zdrubecka received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

The award is given to student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior while also excelling in their academics and displaying good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.

Zdrubecka was one of three seniors honored two weeks ago during MSU’s final regular season match against No. 60 Penn State. In the match, Zdrubecka’s performance in singles and doubles clinched a monumental two points for the Spartans as MSU defeated the Nittany Lions, 4-3, for its first ranked win since April 7, 2019 when the Spartans defeated No. 25 Northwestern on the road.

The Prague, Czech Republic native is in the midst of her best season as a member of the Green and White, entering postseason play with a 3-1 record in singles coupled with a 9-7 mark in doubles.
