WSU Athletics Honors 2023 Senior Student-Athletes


PULLMAN, Wash. (May 5, 2023) – Washington State University Athletics honored its senior student-athletes at its annual Senior Recognition Luncheon Friday afternoon at the Alger Family Club Room at Gesa Field.
 
The luncheon highlighted the academic and athletic contributions of this year’s senior class of Cougar student-athletes.
 
The Pac-12 Conference Tom Hansen Conference Medal recipients are Mykiaa Minniss (women’s soccer) and Jacob McKeon (baseball). The conference medal winners are those who best reflect the greatest combination of performance and achievement in athletics, scholarship and leadership, as selected by the athletic director and senior administrative staff.
 
Thirty-two student-athletes were recognized for the Senior Excellence in Academics Award, given to seniors who have earned a minimum of 90 credits with at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, been members of the WSU Athletics All-Academic Team each semester, enrolled at WSU for at least two years, and excelled in their degree program and sport program. This year’s recipients are Connor Barison (baseball), Samantha Boyle (women’s track & field), Caitlin Donaldson (rowing), Jacob Englar (men’s track & field), Catherine Field (rowing), Sam Griffith (men’s track & field), Chase Grillo (baseball), Gatlin Grisso (football), Darcy Habgood (women’s golf), Elaily Hernandez-Repreza (soccer), Mikaela Kirton (swimming), Tara Koonce (women’s track & field), Amy Kraemer (women’s track & field), Jared McAlvey (men’s track & field), Jacob McKeon (baseball), Christian Mejia (football), Meg Montgomery (rowing), Ula Motuga (women’s basketball), Emma Nankervis (women’s basketball), Laurita Nemeraviciute (rowing), Suzy Pace (women’s track & field), Alex Payne (women’s track & field), Madeleine Pollard (rowing), Giovanna Rhoads (women’s track & field), Anna Rodgers (women’s track & field), Grace Sarver (women’s basketball), Samantha Schmidt (rowing), Kaylee  Sowle (women’s track & field), Zach Stallings (men’s track & field), Sydney Studer (soccer),Grace Trujillo (rowing), Lina Winiski (rowing).
 
The Pac-12 Conference Postgraduate Scholarship recipients are Christian Mejia (football) and Mikaela Kirton (swimming). The scholarships are awarded to one male and one female student-athlete at each Pac-12 school who have excelled academically and athletically and intend to pursue a graduate…
