A contingent of five Gators will head to North Carolina this weekend.
CARY, N.C. – The Gators women’s tennis squad will head to North Carolina this weekend to compete against some of the country’s best tennis players at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s All-American Championships.
ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS
For the first time ever, the women’s competition is set to be hosted by North Carolina, NC State, and Duke at the Cary Tennis Park in 2022. Pre-qualifying action is set to kick off on Saturday for both All-American Championships, while Qualifying play will run from Oct. 3-4, and Main Draw play from Oct. 5-9 at both sites. Pre-qualifying singles will feature 96 individuals, qualifying will feature 64 and the main draw will finish with 32 athletes. On the doubles side, prequalifying will see 32 teams, qualifying 48 teams and main draw 32.

LIVE FROM THE COURTS
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (“ITA”) and Cracked Racquets will provide a CrossCourt Cast during the main draw of the 2022 ITA Men’s and Women’s All-American Championships. With hundreds of matches set to take place across two different venues, this Cracked Racquets CrossCourt Cast will offer viewers a unique experience to keep up with all of the best matches on court, while hearing expert commentary from Mark Bey and Alex Gruskin. Coverage of the 2022 ITA All-American Championships is set to begin on October 5th and will run through October 9th when the All-American Champions will be crowned.

BEDFORD CUP CHAMPS
It was a perfect weekend of competition for Emily De Oliveira and Emma Shelton at the Bedford Cup last weekend, as the pair of Gators brought some hardware back to Gainesville. In the Blue bracket, De Oliveira posted a 4-0 record to take the singles title while Shelton was an impressive 5-0 to claim the Green bracket singles title.
