UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s tennis team (5-12, 4-3) will hit the road for more Big Ten action this weekend. The team will verse Nebraska (10-8, 1-6) on Friday, April 12 at 3 p.m. and compete against No. 61 Iowa (9-9, 4-3) on Sunday, April 14 at 10 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Nittany Lions fell to No. 12 Ohio State, 7-0. The Blue and White looks to rebound this weekend.
Sofiya Chekhlystova leads Penn State in singles wins on the season with seven wins this Spring.
KNOWING NEBRASKA
Nebraska’s last match was a 4-1 loss to No. 61 Purdue. The Cornhuskers’ only point in that match was gained by winning the doubles point.
Nebraska has two ranked doubles pairs. Raphaelle Lacasse and Maja Pietrowicz are ranked at No. 75.
Lacasse is part of one other doubles pairing at No. 77 with Isabel Adrover Gallego.
Ana Zamburek, who typically plays for her team in the No. 4 position, leads Nebraska in singles wins at 12 this Spring season.
INFORMATION ON IOWA
Iowa’s last match was a 5-2 win over Rutgers. Prior to versing the Nittany Lions, the Hawkeyes will play Ohio State on Friday.
Marisa Schmidt leads her team in singles wins this Spring season with 11 wins. She typically plays in the No. 2 spot for her team.
