UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s tennis team will travel to Columbus to compete in the Buckeye Invitational. The tournament will begin on Friday, Oct. 14 and conclude on Sunday, Oct. 16.
The Blue and White are planning to send Danielle Alamo, Olivia Dorner, Karly Friedland, Ioana Gheorghita, Carla Girbau and Alina Lebedevato the tournament.
“We’ve started off really strong this fall and have been working hard on building a culture of energy. The team has been working on it every day and Ronit and I are excited to keep seeing the implementations from practice into our matches,” said head coach Alex Anghelescu. “This is our last event before the ITA Regionals, and this is the perfect tournament for the team to prepare and make a statement at our Big Ten competition.”
Play is anticipated to begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The tournament is set up in a hidden dual format.
The Nittany Lions will be facing off against players from Ohio State, Kentucky, Michigan and Xavier.
