Women's Tennis to Conclude Fall Season With Thunderbird Invitational

TEMPE– The Sun Devils are set to host five visiting teams for their annual three-day Thunderbird Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center from Friday, November 3 through Sunday, November 5.

Michigan, UCLA, USC, California and GCU will join Arizona State for the final tournament for the Sun Devils this fall.

The schedule will remain the same for Friday and Saturday as it is slated to begin with doubles play at 10 a.m. MST. Following doubles, singles play is tentatively scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with additional matches to follow later in the day.

On the final day on Sunday, doubles are set to begin at 9 a.m. MST with singles tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. with more matches to follow into the afternoon.

No live stream will be available throughout the three days of action, but fans can follow along through the tournament homepage.

Five Sun Devils will be competing in the tournament this week, including Giulia Morlet, Marianna Argyrokastriti, Patricija Spaka, Rachel Hanford and Sara Svetac. Morlet, Argyrokastriti, Spaka and Hanford round out four of the returners for the Sun Devils after a 17-win season last year. Svetac, who was ranked as high as No. 135 in the ITF Junior World Rankings, will be making her collegiate debut at Whiteman Tennis Center this weekend.

The team’s Twitter account, @sundevilwtennis, will be providing notes, results and more from this weekend’s action at the Whiteman Tennis Center.
