UNVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s tennis team downed No. 71 Michigan State, 4-1, on Friday.
DOUBLES
The Nittany Lions grabbed the first point by taking two doubles wins. Jordina Cegarra and Alina Lebedeva easily defeated Liisa Vehvilainen and Matilde Moraid, 6-1.
Yvonne Zuffova and Sofiya Chekhlystova won their match against Ria Bhakta and Marley Lambert, 6-4.
SINGLES
To win the match for the Blue and White, Olivia Dorner, Sofiya Chekhlystova and Jordina Cegarra grabbed their singles matches.
Olivia Dorner quickly won her match versus Liisa Vehvilainen, 6-0, 6-0. On court 1, Sofiya Chekhlystova defeated Ayshe Can, 6-2, 6-2.
To clinch the match, Jordina Cegarra won 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 against Issey Purser.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. to play No. 2 Michigan on Sunday, March 17 at 11 a.m.
