TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team defeated Indiana, 4-1, in its second match of the weekend at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility, improving to 5-1 on the season.
Alabama (5-1) swept the doubles point against Indiana (4-5). The Crimson Tide’s Anne Marie Hiser and Klara Milicevic defeated Elisabeth Dunac and Sarah L’allier, 6-2, on court three. UA secured the doubles point after Ola Pitak and Loudmilla Bencheikh downed Lara Schneider and Li Hsin Lin, 6-2, on court two.
After taking a two-point lead, UA would surrender a point to Indiana before claiming the next two matches, to collect the 4-1 win over the Hoosiers. Klara Milicevic defeated Indiana’s Li Hsin Lin (6-1, 6-4) at the No. 6 spot, while Anne Marie Hiser downed Saby Nihalani (6-3, 7-5) at the No. 3 spot. Anna Parkhomenko clinched the victory for the Tide, on court five, with a convincing two-set win, defeating Lene Mari Hovda (6-3, 6-3).
