Women’s Tennis Announces 2022 Fall Schedule


SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Women’s Tennis program is set to open its 2022 Fall Season. The Utes will compete in 11 different tournaments ranging from ITA Regionals, ITA Nationals, Professional Tournaments, and College Invites. The Utes open the fall slate at the Boise State Invite on Sept. 23-25. 

 

Utah is coming off one of its most successful spring seasons. The team remained undefeated for their first ten matches of the season. The Utes finished the year off 15-11 and 52nd on the National ITA rankings.

 

The Utes have four new players joining the team. Kaila Barkside, Yasmin Ezzat, and Marcela Lopez are all incoming freshmen, while Katya Townsend is a graduate student from Texas A&M. The team also has four returning players, Anastasia Goncharova, Katya Hersh, Samantha Horwood, and Madison Tattini

 

After the first tournaments, Utah heads to San Diego on Sept. 29- 2 for the USD Invite. The Utes will also have players competing at the 15K Hilton Head on Sept. 26 – Oct 2. On Oct. 1-9, Utah will have players competing at the ITA All-American in Cary, N.C. 

 

Utah will play at the ITA Mountain Regionals the following week, hosted by UNLV, from Oct. 12 to 16. The singles and doubles draw winners will advance to the ITA National Fall Championship on Nov. 2-6 in San Diego, Calif.

 

Following ITA Regionals, the Utes will be heading to the lone star state to play at the Texas A&M Invite on Oct. 21-23. Utah will have players at the 15K Norman Tournament from Oct 1 to Nov 6. Utah will also have players at the 15K Champaign Tournament from Nov. 7-13.  

 

The Utes will close the fall slate by returning to Las Vegas for the UNLV Invite on Nov. 11-13.
