Women's Tennis Adds Three New Players to Roster


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s tennis head coach, Alex McIntyre, has welcomed three newcomers to the roster ahead of the 2023-24 season. Joining the Nittany Lions are Jordina Cegarra, Katerina Dimitrova and Kate Zink.

Was a member of the Spanish National Team in Tennis Europe Winter Cups…Received a national ranking of 60…Obtained a junior ranking of 507…Acquired an ITF ranking of 285…Received a WTA singles ranking of 1290 and doubles ranking of 962…Was a four-time national team champion.

Daughter of Jordi Cegarra and Idoia Ramirez…Has one brother…Intends to major in communications.

Was the Bulgarian National 12u, 14u, 16u and 18u singles and doubles champion…Placed second at the European Juniors Masters 14u…Highest rank in TE 14u ranking was 4…Best ITF 18u junior ranking was 109…Won three ITF u18 single and three doubles titles…Won two 15k doubles titles (Sozopol, Bulgaria and Prokuplje, Serbia)…Highest WTA singles ranking was 1219…Highest WTA doubles ranking was 860…Ranked first under 18 and second in women’s Bulgarian national rankings.
