Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz aims to defend his title, while Marketa Vondrousova was upset in the first round meaning there will be a new champion on the women’s side this summer.
Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff both won their first-round matches in straight sets, while Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka was forced to withdraw with an injury.
Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic won their first-round matches, despite Djokovic withdrawing from the French Open due to injury. Rafael Nadal will skip Wimbledon to focus on the 2024 Olympics. Andy Murray withdrew from the singles draw on Tuesday, but remains in the doubles tournament with his brother Jamie Murray.
