Will Grant Earns Second SEC Community Service Team Honor

Grant was also named to the team during the 2022 season.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida men’s tennis junior Will Grant has been named to the 2023 Southeastern Conference Men’s Tennis Community Service Team, the league announced Thursday afternoon.

Grant becomes the fourth Gator to be named to the SEC Community Service Team at-least twice in their career after collecting the honor in 2022, joining McClain Kessler (2017-18), Bob van Overbeek (2010-2013), and Johnny Hamui (2008-2009).

Grant contributed to several service opportunities during the 2022-23 academic year at the University of Florida. The junior is a member of Gators Lunch Buddies, a program where students eat lunch with multiple grades and classes at Terwilliger Elementary, in addition to joining the 5th graders for recess and acting as mentors for all of the students.

During the fall, Grant assisted in the Hurricane Ian Relief Drive run by the University of Florida Athletic Association, helping collect items from the community and packed the contributions for delivery to areas impacted by Hurricane Ian.

Grant also serves as the Community Service Chair for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In this role, he leads and organizes community service events throughout the year.

The Gators are set to play their final regular season home match against No. 5 Kentucky tomorrow, April 14 at 5 p.m. and Grant will be one of three members of the team honored as a part of Senior Day.
