Wildcats Find Success in Southern California

SAN DIEGO / LOS ANGELES – The Women’s Tennis team put on an impressive performance at two tournaments over the weekend: Veterans Classic in San Diego and Women of Troy in Los Angeles. Arizona had two flawless days in San Diego winning all six of their singles matches and one doubles match. 

Salma Ziouti and Belen Nevehoven won their first doubles match on day one against Fresno State and later that day Nevenhoven won another doubles match against Navy alongside freshman Tanvi Narendran. Nevenhoven won all three of her singles matches over the weekend. 

Midori Castillo also won all three of her singles matches against UCSB, LMU and Gonzaga, doing so in straight sets minus a tiebreaker in her final match. The Wildcats won two of six doubles matches in the L.A. tournament. 

Next up for the Cats are the ITA Regionals hosted in San Diego Oct. 20-24.
