Erika Matsuda picked up a singles victory on Friday, but the Washington women’s tennis team struggled to come out on top on day one of the Torero Tennis Classic.
Matsuda was the only Dawg to secure a victory on Friday afternoon, defeating a Georgia opponent, 7-6, 6-2.
She will play Georgia’s No. 61 Anastasiia Lopata in the round of 16 on Saturday.
