WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Ashlee Davis Brooks played for the Wake Forest women’s tennis team from 2004-2007, achieving multiple things on and off the court. Davis became the first ever African-American player for the Demon Deacons’ program when she made her debut in 2004.
During her time in Winston-Salem, Davis Brooks accomplished many great things, including becoming the fourth all-time Wake Forest player to earn ACC Rookie of the Year in 2004. She finished her freshman campaign ranked 101st nationally with a singles record of 18-13, including wins over the 10th and 29th ranked players. She was named to the All-ACC team for her efforts.
The Anderson, Indiana native then went on to earn her second consecutive All-ACC nod during her sophomore season. She reached as high as 57th nationally and finished the season with a 19-6 (5-5 ACC) clip while landing a spot in the 2005 NCAA Singles Championships.
Davis Brooks began her junior year ranked 42nd in the nation and reached the 20-win mark for the first time in her career with a 21-11 record, defeating five nationally-ranked opponents along the way.
During her final season with Wake Forest, Davis Brooks and her doubles partner, Alexandra Hirsh, received an at-large bid to the 2007 NCAA Doubles Championship.
