Vols Rack Up 2022 ITA Division I Academic Awards

TEMPE, Ariz. – Following a dual season in which the Tennessee men’s tennis team excelled on the court with 26 wins, a second consecutive trip to the NCAA team semifinals and a year-end ITA national ranking of No. 6, the Vols collected awards for their efforts in the classroom Monday, as announced by the ITA.

With four Vols being named ITA Scholar-Athletes, Tennessee was also recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team, posting a collective team GPA of 3.39 during the 2021-22 academic year.

The individuals recognized were Pat Harper, Emile Hudd, Mark Wallner and Adam Walton. To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete honors, these student-athletes needed to attain a GPA of 3.50 or higher while earning a varsity letter during the 2021-22 school year. For Wallner and Walton, it marks their third time receiving the honor.

Since Chris Woodruff was promoted to head coach in May 2017, Tennessee has logged 28 ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
