CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 11 Virginia women’s tennis team (10-3, 3-1 ACC) and the No. 12 Virginia men’s tennis team (12-4, 4-0 ACC) are both home this weekend, hosting matches on Friday and Sunday, March 17 and 19, at the Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Va.

FRIDAY, MARCH 17

  • 12:30 p.m. – Virginia men vs. No. 9 North Carolina (11-4, 3-0 ACC)
  • 4:30 p.m. – Virginia women vs. No. 24 Notre Dame (10-5, 1-3 ACC)

SUNDAY, MARCH 19

  • 10:30 a.m. – Virginia women vs. Louisville (8-6, 0-4 ACC)
  • 2:30 p.m. – Virginia men vs. No. 13 Duke (10-4, 3-0 ACC)

MATCH INFORMATION

  • All of the matches are scheduled to be played outdoors at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort. Please monitor the team’s social media accounts for potential weather-related venue changes
  • Live streaming and live scoring will be available through links posted on VirginiaSports.com
  • Admission is free

TEAM NOTES

  • Virginia remained at No. 11 in this week’s ITA computerized rankings. Singles and doubles rankings update again next Tuesday (March 21)
  • The Cavaliers won their last four matches, including a 4-1 win at UCF in their lone action last week
  • The Cavaliers have two doubles teams ranked in the top 10 of the updated ITA individual rankings, the only school with two in the top 10
  • Elaine Chervinsky and Natasha Subhash are ranked No. 6 with a 14-2 overall record and a 4-0 mark in dual matches
  • Julia Adams and Mélodie Collard are No. 7 with a 14-3 record and an 11-2 mark in dual matches, with 10 of those victories coming on the top court
  • Hibah Shaikh has won each of her last four singles matches and is 7-2 in her last 10
  • Virginia is 10-1 on the No. 5 court this season, with Shaikh picking up half of those wins
  • Sara Ziodato leads the team with 18 singles victories this year, including 11 in dual matches
  • Adams (44), Subhash (78), Shaikh (89), Chervinsky (124) and Annabelle Xu (69) are all ranked in the top 125 in singles
  • Notre Dame has been ranked as high as No. 14 this season but fell to No. 24 in this week’s ITA team rankings
  • The Irish fell 5-2 at Duke and 7-0 at UNC last weekend
  • The Irish have two ranked singles players led by Page Freeman at No. 71
  • The Cavaliers are 10-1 all-time against Notre Dame and have won the last nine meetings
  • Louisville does not have any ranked players
  • UVA is 6-1 all-time against the Cardinals and have won the last four meetings
