CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team (17-5, 10-3 ACC) begins the postseason by competing at the 2023 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The Cavaliers earned the No. 4 seed in the championship and have a double-bye into the quarterfinals. The Cavaliers will face 5-seed Miami on Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m.

NOTING THE CAVALIERS
- Virginia is No. 10 in this week’s ITA team rankings

- Sara O’Leary closed out the regular season by picking up the 100th win in her Virginia career, becoming the third coach in program history to reach the milestone
- Sara Ziodato comes into the tournament having won her last six singles matches and is 8-2 in her last 10. She leads the team with 25 singles wins this season
- Natasha Subhash has also passed the 20-win mark in singles, going 20-7
- Annabelle Xu came back from a nearly two-month absence due to injury. She returned to action by partnering with Sara Ziodato in doubles against Virginia Tech on April 6 and returned to singles play with a win against Abigail Rencheli of NC State on April 14. Xu is 12-2 in singles overall and 7-0 in dual matches
- Julia Adams paces the team in doubles victories with 28. She comes into the weekend with 99 career victories in doubles. Adams played four years at Furman before coming to UVA as a grad student this season
- Adams and Mélodie Collard are 17-3 at No. 1 doubles this season and went 11-2 in conference play
- Subhash and Elaine Chervinsky are looking for their 20th win of the season as a doubles team with a 19-6 record. They went 9-2 in ACC play
- Miami is No. 13 in this week’s ITA team rankings. North Carolina remains No. 1
- The ACC has eight teams currently ranked in the top 25 of the ITA team rankings
