Virginia Women's Tennis | No. 11 Virginia Competing at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The 2024 ITA Division I National Women’s Team Indoor Championship showcases 16 of the top women’s teams in a four-day tournament to crown an indoor national champion.

Preliminary and consolation matches will occur Friday through Sunday (Feb. 9-11) at the Nordstrom Tennis Center and the Seattle Tennis Club in Seattle, Washington. The championship match will take place on Monday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. ET at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

Virginia (6-1) opens play on Friday by facing No. 6 Pepperdine (2-1) on Friday (Feb. 9) at 3 p.m. ET at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

Live video streams and live stats will be available for all of the matches. Cracked Racquets will provide live-streaming coverage all four days. Live stats links will be posted once they are available.

As a single-elimination tournament, teams will play one match each day with the Championship Match being played on Monday. All teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.

Pepperdine is No. 6 in the rankings, but is the five-seed in the draw. Virginia is unseeded.

Virginia will face either 4-seed Michigan or California on Saturday.

VIRGINIA AT ITA INDOORS

  • Virginia earned its spot in this year’s field by picking up a 4-1 win against Texas Tech and a 4-0 victory against Georgia Tech at ITA Kickoff Weekend matches in Charlottesville in January
  • The Cavaliers are looking for their first ITA National Team Indoor championship
  • This is UVA’s 12th appearance in the prestigious tournament
  • The Cavaliers hosted the championship for five straight years from 2011-15 at the Boar’s Head Sports Club
  • Last season, UVA went 1-2 in the tournament, closing play with a 4-1 win against San Diego
  • Virginia faced Pepperdine in the consolation bracket last year, falling 4-1 to the Waves

  • Juniors Elaine Chervinsky and Mélodie Collard were named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week after topping No. 8 Jaedan Brown and Kari Miller of Michigan 6-2

  • Sara Ziodato leads the team with an 18-4 record in singles and a perfect 6-0 mark in dual matches
