ROME, Ga. (theACC.com) – Top-seeded Virginia and No. 3 seed North Carolina rolled to victories Saturday in the semifinals of the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Championship at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

 

Virginia scored a 4-0 triumph over No. 4 seed Louisville, while the Tar Heels earned a 4-1 victory over No. 10 seed Georgia Tech.

 

The championship match is slated for 10 a.m. Sunday and will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.

 

The Cavaliers won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 2 singles from Inaki Montes/Ryan Goetz and Chris Rodesch/Bar Botzer, respectively, and then earned three straight singles victories from Rodesch (No. 1), Gianni Ross (No. 6) and Ryan Goetz (No. 4).

 

UNC quickly claimed the doubles point following wins from Brian Cernoch/Mac Kiger at No. 1 and Casey Kania/Logan Zapp at No. 2. Georgia Tech tied the match following Andres Martin’s victory over Cernoch at No. 1 singles, but the Tar Heels won three straight to clinch the match with victories from Peter Murphy (No. 6), Kiger (No. 3) and Anuj Watane (No. 5).

 

One-day entry passes are $10 for adults and $7 for children (age 9-17) and non-ACC college students. Children (8 and under) and ACC college students (with valid ID) are admitted free of charge.
