Venus Williams will turn 44 next June. It sounds like the American legend will still be grinding it out on the WTA Tour when she does.
In a recent interview the seven-time Grand Slam champion expressed her desire to continue her career in 2024. Williams says she is still trying to get her body right after suffering a difficult fall at Wimbledon this summer. She plans to return to the tour in March, to catch the North American swing.
“I had a crazy fall at Wimbledon,” Williams said. “I tried my best to recover for the US Open. I did not reach my form so now I am just resting until I get back,” Williams said. “I am targeting March now – that’s when the tournaments go back to the States, so my goal is to be up and running when tournaments come back to the U.S.”
So Vee won’t be playing anymore tournaments this year and is still healing from that fall at Wimbledon 😔
She is planning on returning March next year??(Miami open /Indian Wells) Which means no Australian Open again 😭
Atleast she will return completely healthy ❤️#QueenVee pic.twitter.com/Dasdumms1b

Ranked 408, Williams won three of ten matches on tour in 2023.
Williams lost in the first round at Wimbledon and the US Open but did record promising victories over No.48-ranked Camila Giorgi on the grass at Birmingham, and No.16-ranked Veronika Kudermetova at Cincinnati.
Williams has not won a match at a major since 2021 Wimbledon.
