NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team plays its 2023-24 home opener this weekend when it hosts three teams for the June Stewart Invitational. Round robin matches among the four schools are Friday through Sunday at the Lummis Family Tennis Center.

About the Commodores: Vanderbilt opens its home schedule this weekend with five players in the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings. Sophomore Celia-Belle Mohr leads the Dores at No. 12, sophomore Bridget Stammel ranks No. 67, senior Anessa Lee stands at No. 103, and the doubles team of Mohr and senior Holly Staff rank No. 59. Freshman Valeria Ray starts her collegiate career ranked No. 9 nationally among freshmen/newcomers.
Last Time Out: The Commodores finished their first outing of the season last weekend at the Kitty Harrison Invitational hosted by North Carolina. Vanderbilt recorded wins in five of the six brackets finishing with two finalists (Stammel in singles and Lee/Mohr in doubles), two semifinalists and three quarterfinalists.
