NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team enters the weekend scheduled to play a pair of matches at home, facing Michigan State on Saturday at noon and Northwestern on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Dores (7-1) will be looking for their fourth consecutive win and enter the weekend matchup after almost two weeks off, having last played defeating Belmont and Butler in a doubleheader on Feb. 4.
No. 16 Michigan State enters the weekend with a perfect 9-0 record, having last played Feb. 9, defeating Clemson 6-1. Last season saw the Spartans finish 11-14, making it to the Big Ten tournament and losing to No. 7 Michigan. Four players are ranked among the top 125 in the nation for singles, as well as two doubles pairs, with the tandem of Max Sheldon and Ozan Baris holding the current No. 1 position for doubles.
Sunday’s opponent, Northwestern, posts a 5-6 record with a two-match winning streak. The Wildcats faced Clemson and IUPUI in a doubleheader last weekend, coming out on top.
