SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women’s tennis team competed in the Torero Tennis Classic hosted by San Diego over the weekend.
SINGLES
Emma Valletta picked up a 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 win over Maya Bordereau from Wisconsin. Emma Kamper also picked up a singles win when she defeated Taylor Cataldi from Wisconsin with 6-3, 6-4 scores.
DOUBLES
On the first day of competition, Valletta and Sara Akid defeated Duru Soke and Taylor Goetz from Pepperdine with scores of 6-3. The Ute duo went undefeated on the weekend as they picked up a 7-6 (7-3) win over Zehra Suko and Catherine Gagnon from the University of Washington.
Emma Kamper and Dylan Lolofie picked up a doubles win on the second day of action as they defeated Filippa Bruu-Syversen and Kristina Nordikyan from San Diego with a 6-1 score.

Sara Akid will head to the ITA Sectional Championships Nov. 7-10 in San Diego, Calif. The rest of the Utes head to Las Vegas for the UNLV Invitational.
