Utah Men's tennis adds Charles Frey for 2024-25 season


SALT LAKE CITY –  The University of Utah men’s tennis head coach, Roeland Brateanu has officially announced the signing of Charles Frey to join the Utes for the 2024-25 season. 

“I am very proud to be a Ute and I look forward to working with a great team and amazing coaches,” Frey said.

Frey, a four-star recruit from Farmington, Utah, is ranked No. 1 in the juniors in the state of Utah. He has earned three national level three singles titles and four level four sectional titles. He also earned the doubles titles at level four. 

He has a career-high junior ranking of 17 in the nation and consistently held a top three sectional ranking in every age division until the 18s. 

“We welcome Charles and the entire Frey family to our Utah tennis family,” Brateanu said. “It has been a privilege to see him grow up as a tennis player and a young man the last decade. We are honored that we get the opportunity to work with Charles and help him achieve his dreams and goals in this next stage of life.”

Utah women’s tennis is currently in the middle of 2024action. The Utes will head to Denver to take on the Pioneers and face off against UTSA for the second time this season.
