Utah Falls Short 4-1 in Match Against Idaho State

Nevada

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men wrapped up their second home-match of the season this afternoon against the Idaho State Bengals. The Utes battled for the doubles point but lost it. Despite winning court one and having close matches on courts three and five, Utah dropped the match 4-1.

The match began with doubles where the Utes gave some great performances. After court one fell to the Bengals, Jayson and Michael Blando caught a 6-4 win on court two. The point was decided on court three, where the Bengals took the doubles victory.

As the match moved to singles the Utes looked for another win. On court one, Geronimo Espin Busleiman secured the first point for the Utes as he defeated Idaho State’s Victor Sklenka in a quick 6-2, 6-1 match. Despite Utah’s effort, courts two, four, and six fell to Idaho State, awarding the Bengals with the three singles points to clinch the match.

On court three, Bruno Krenn won his first set 7-5 and left the second set with an unfinished score of 3-4. On court five, Gianluca Citadini also had an unfinished 5-7, 3-3 match.
