USC Women’s Tennis Wraps Regular Season With Two-Match Weekend

LOS ANGLES, Calif. – The USC women’s tennis team is wrapping up regular season action this weekend as the Trojans travel to crosstown rival UCLA on Friday, before returning home to host Hawaii on Saturday.  The Women of Troy will face the Bruins at 1:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Tennis Center and will host the Rainbow Wahine at Marks Stadium at 10 a.m. 
 
The Trojans, 15-7 (6-3) most recently defeated Pac-12 opponent Oregon on the road, beating the Ducks 4-0.

RANKINGS: 
In the ITA’s latest rankings, USC was No. 26 in the team category and boasts two ranked singles players. 
 
Freshman Maddy Sieg led the way at No. 8, followed by senior Eryn Cayetano at No. 44. The Women of Troy also boast two ranked duos in No. 17 Cayetano/Sieg and No. 39 Han/Naomi Cheong
 
NOTABLE: 

  • Freshman No. 8 Maddy Sieg is unbeaten in 2023, carrying an 14-0 dual match singles record (Sieg retired one match due to injury). The Trojan rookie leads the squad with 24 singles wins this season. 
  • USC senior Nathalie Rodilosso leads the Trojans in doubles wins this season with 20. 
  • Trojan McKenna Koenig has clinched three matches for the Trojans this season, coming in clutch against LMU, Stetson and Dartmouth. 
  • Four Trojans have surpassed the 20-win mark this seaon; Maddy Sieg (24), Eryn Cayetano (22), McKenna Koenig (21) and Emma Charney (21). 

 
SCOUTING UCLA 
No. 19 UCLA are 12-6 this season, with a 5-4 record in conference play. The Bruins enter Friday’s match on a three-game win streak, notching victories over Pepperdine, Oregon and UC San Diego. UCLA is 7-2 at home this season and earned a road victory at Marks Stadium back in March against the Trojans. The Bruins have two ranked singles players in No. 17 Fangran Tian and No. 106 Kimmi Hance, as well as one ranked doubles pairing in No. 6 Elise Wagle and Hance.  
 
SCOUTING HAWAII 
No. 67 Hawaii is 10-6 this season and 0-3 against Pac-12 opponents after losing to Washington and Arizona twice at the beginning of the season. Hawaii enters the match riding a seven-game win streak, with their last loss coming on March 10 against UC Davis. Hawaii does not have any ranked players.
