USC Women’s Tennis Concludes Play at NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

STILLWATER, Okla. – USC’s time at the 2024 NCAA Individual Championships came to a close on Tuesday, May 21 as the Trojans suffered losses in both the singles and doubles rounds of 32. 
 
After impressing during her NCAA singles debut yesterday, Trojan Grace Piper returned to the second round of singles play on Tuesday, facing No. 8 seed Alexa Noel of Miami. Piper put up a fight, claiming the second set, but couldn’t rally in the third, ultimately falling 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 to Noel. 
 
Later in the day, Eryn Cayetano and Emma Charney took to the courts to make their debut in the NCAA Doubles Championships, falling to South Carolina’s Ayana Akli and Sarah Hamner. The Trojan duo put up a rally late in the second set, but ultimately came up short, dropping the match 6-4, 7-6(5) to wrap up their time at the championships. 
 
USC will be back in action in the fall as the Trojans gear up for their inaugural year in the Big Ten Conference and the first fall NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
