LOS ANGELES- USC men’s tennis (5-7) faces No. 2 TCU (11-1) in a non-conference dual at 5 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 15, at the Mark Tennis Center in Los Angeles. USC will be back at home on Sunday, Mar. 17 at 1 p.m. for another dual as it faces off against No. 12 Texas (10-3).
RANKINGS
The Trojans enter this weekend as the No. 44th ranked team in the country (ITA Rankings, Mar. 12). USC currently hosts two-ranked individuals (Mar. 05). Junior Peter Makk is the highest-ranking individual, ranked #50. Sitting behind him is #102 senior Lodewijk Weststrate.
USC has one ranked doubles squad with the combination of graduate student Stefan Dostanic and sophomore Oscar Weightman at #65. The brand-new duo featuring the latest member to the Trojans roster is 2-0 overall, as they have yet to drop a match as a pair in duals. The doubles squad already has one quality win: they took down #15 Sharma/Klaassen 6-4.
LAST TIME UP
The Trojans were swept by the Stanford Cardinal on a road-trip to The Taube Family Tennis Center on Saturday, Mar. 10.
Earlier in the week, the team fell to Pepperdine at home after having to stop play and resume the following day due to weather conditions.
SCOUTING TCU
The Horned Frogs come into the matchup ranked No. 2 (ITA Rankings, Mar. 12), as they are 11-1 in the early portion of the season. TCU has five ranked individuals: #10 Jack Pinnington, #11 Jack Fearnley, #35 Pedro Vives, #53 Sebastian Gorzyn and #87 Lui Matex. The Horned Frogs have two ranked doubles squads with Sebastian Gorzny and Pedro Vives at #2 and Duncan Chan and Lui Maxted at #40.
SCOUTING TEXAS
The Longhorns come into the matchup ranked No. 9 (ITA Rankings, Mar. 12), as they are 10-3 in the early portion of the season. Texas has four ranked individuals: #1 Eliot Spizzirri, #2 Micah Braswell, #48 Gilles-Arnaud Bailly and #51 Jonah Braswell. The Longhorns have one ranked doubles squad with Eliot Spizzirri and Cleeve Harper at #6.
