NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two Vanderbilt student-athletes will participate in the SEC Career Tour Dec. 3-5 in Atlanta, Georgia, the SEC announced on Tuesday. Juniors Dylan Ballard of cross country and Sonya Macavei of women’s tennis are set to represent the Commodores.
The tour, which brings together 31 total SEC student-athletes, is aimed at giving exposure to those seeking various career opportunities. Both Ballard and Macavei are pursuing degrees in human and organizational development. Student-athletes can also use the tour to network with recruiters, submit resumes to jobs, and receive information on professional branding.
The group will visit the SEC headquarters and meet with multiple corporate and organizational executives from the Atlanta area, including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Metro Atlanta Chamber, One Digital, Southern Company, and Porsche North America.
The three-day event will begin at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the site of the SEC Championship Game, where they will meet with staff and take a tour of the facility. The student-athletes are also set to visit with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and receive executive coaching from Randy Hain, founder and president of Servian Partners and co-founder of the Leadership Foundry.
