Trio of Blue Devils Earn NCAA Championship Invitations

DURHAM – The Duke women’s tennis trio of Chloe Beck, Emma Jackson and Georgia Drummy have received invitations to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship, which will be contested May 22-27 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

The Blue Devils earned at-large bids to compete in the 64-player singles field.  All matches will be the best-of-three sets.  No-ad scoring and a 7-point tiebreaker (first to seven points, must win by two points) at six games will be used for all matches.

Beck, a senior native of Watkinsville, Ga., received the No. 6 overall seed, after collecting a 29-4 overall, 19-1 dual match and 10-1 ACC record on the season.  She owns 13 wins against ranked opponents, including four against top-10 ranked foes.  Beck will see action in the NCAA singles competition for the second straight year.

Seeing action in her first NCAA singles event, Jackson earned the at-large bid as a sophomore.  A product of La Grange Park, Ill., Jackson is currently ranked No. 40 nationally and has notched a 21-11 overall and 7-4 ACC mark.  She has posted five wins against ranked foes this season, including a victory against 10th-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State in the fall.

Drummy will represent Duke in the NCAA Singles Championship for the second time and the first since 2021, when she advanced to the round of 16.  Drummy, who hails from Dublin, Ireland, has been one of the hottest players in the nation as of late winning seven straight matches and totaling a 12-5 singles ledger.  She went a perfect, 6-0, in ACC play to close her Blue Devil career.

Duke has featured at least one Blue Devil in the NCAA Individual Championship each of the last 15 years the event has been contested.

As a team, the Blue Devils will open the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 seed on Friday at 5 p.m., against William & Mary at Ambler Tennis Stadium in Durham, N.C.  UCLA and Texas Tech will also play Friday at 2 p.m., in the Durham regional.  The two advancing teams will face each other Saturday at 5 p.m.
