Tough Saturday for Purdue at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. – It was a tough day on Saturday for the Purdue men’s tennis team at the Virginia Tech Halloween Clash.

Purdue squared off with host Virginia Tech in three doubles and six singles matches. Despite a trio of singles matches going the distance, the Boilermakers were not able to pull out a victory.

Michal Wozniak opened his match with a first set win, before falling to Alberto Orso 2-6, 6-2, 6-0. Likewise, Wozniak’s fellow countryman Tomasz Dudek saw his opening set win ultimately come up short in a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 defeat to Ryan Morgan. Freshman Mujtaba Ali-Khan rallied from a set down against Manuel Goncalves, but the rookie dropped his match 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.
