Topalova’s gutsy play shines in Budapest thriller

It was a classic mad dash to the backhand corner to snag what looked like a guaranteed winner, followed by an incredible return of an overhead smash into the open court.

Gergana Topalova made the impossible look easy at the Hungarian Grand Prix in the opening round against Sara Sorribes Tormo.

Despite her gutsy effort, Topalova came up short in a three-set marathon that lasted 3 hours and 29 minutes, but her play was nothing short of amazing.
