CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team completed their second day of the Wake Forest Invitational as Matt Pitts, Stewart Aronson and Noa Vukadin all earned singles wins.
“Great to see Noa and Stewart step up in the most important moment in their singles matches today and play aggressively. This is something we are trying to establish this weekend and they showed great examples of that today,” Head Coach Brandon Wagner said. “Another opportunity tomorrow to compete and get better in certain aspects in doubles and singles and I know the guys are looking forward to that tomorrow.”
Vukadin’s two set victory (7-5, 7-6) marked the first in his collegiate career as Aronson’s three set victory (5-7, 6-1, 7-5) also marked his first singles win in a Tiger uniform.
Picking up his 25th career singles win, Pitts defeated Columbia’s Sachin Palta in two sets (6-4,6-3) as he earned his first victory of the fall season.
The Tigers will return for the third and final day of the Wake Forest Invitational tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. in Winston-Salem.
