COLLEGE PARK, MD — Three Maryland women’s tennis players were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Francesca Feodorov, Kallista Liu and Maria Budin each were honored for their athletic and academic achievements. The 2023-24 Academic All-District Women’s Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Francesca Feodorov competed for the Terps as a junior for the 2023-24 season. On the court, Feodorov finished the year with a record of 12-11 in singles play and an 8-9 record in doubles. Kallista Liu also competed for the Terps as a junior for the 2023-24 season. On the court, Liu finished the year with a stellar 26-10 record in singles play and 10-9 record in doubles. Maria Budin joined the Terps for the 2023-24 season a graduate transfer from Rice. On the court, Budin finished the year with a record of 16-11 in singles play and an outstanding 22-10 record in the No. 1 spot for doubles.
To be eligible for the Academic All-District Team, undergraduate student athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, both undergraduate and graduate student athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and need to be in the lineup for 70% of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores.
