Three Hokies named in latest ITA rankings

BLACKSBURG – Three members of the Virginia Tech men’s tennis team were named in the initial ITA rankings released Wednesday.

For the first time this spring, the ITA released the singles and doubles rankings highlighting the Top 125 singles players from across the country as well as the Top 60 doubles players.

Tech’s dynamic duo of Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback ranked as the No. 5 doubles pairing in the country. Fishback and Chrysostom are 3-0 this year including a victory against No. 36 Brandon Perez and Younes Lalami from Old Dominion.

Fishback and Alberto Orso claimed the No. 29 spot with a 2-0 record on the young season. The Hokie duo finished as the runner-up at the ITA Atlantic Regional this fall earning them a bid to ITA Nationals.

In singles, Fishback lists at No. 60 commanding a 6-2 record on Court 1 for the Hokies including a ranked win over then No. 91 Younes Lalami.

Virginia Tech returns to action against Middle Tennessee on Sunday, February 12, at 11 a.m. inside the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
