Florida had at-least two Gators named to SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll for the 17th consecutive year and one Gator on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
GAINESVILLE, Fla – Three Gators from the Florida men’s tennis team claimed 2024 Southeastern Conference academic honors this spring, the league office announced.
With Nate Bonetto and Tanapatt Nirundorn named to SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, Florida had at least two Gators honored for the 17th consecutive year. Bonetto claimed the award for the second time and Nirundorn did so for the first time.
Additionally, graduate student JanMangus Johnson earned his place on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
Today’s announcement sets Florida’s record at 433 for total of student-athletes named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in a single season. The record has been reset twice since 2020-21 (378 in 2020-21 and 2021-22 and 410 for 2022-23 academic year). Florida placed 312 on SEC Academic Honor Rolls (137 on fall list; 64 winter, 111 on spring) and 121 on the First-Year Honor Roll.
To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
