CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference revealed the complete bracket for the 2023 Big Ten Women’s Tennis Tournament that will be held April 26-30 at Purdue’s Schwartz Tennis Center on Sunday. The Fighting Illini were granted the third seed and will play their first match at 6 p.m. on Friday.
The Illini earned the third seed based on their head-to-head win over Wisconsin, who will be the four seed at the tournament. The Orange and Blue will open postseason play on Friday night in a quarterfinal match against the winner of the second-round contest between No. 7 seed Purdue and 10th-seeded Nebraska.
No. 31 Illinois is seeking its first Big Ten title when the team heads to West Lafayette, Indiana. The Fighting Illini posted a 17-8 mark overall this season while owning an 8-3 record in league action The most recent third place finish in the regular season standings by the Illini came in the spring of 2018 when UI finished 9-3 in B1G play.
