CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina women’s tennis program has added Theadora Rabman to its 2023 recruiting class, head coach Brian Kalbas announced on Monday.
Rabman, who hails from Port Washington, N.Y., currently trains at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy, is regarded as the No. 2 prospect in the 2022 class by tennisrecruiting.net, and the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of New York.
“Thea is a perfect fit for our program,” says UNC head coach Brian Kalbas. “She comes from a great family who is very loving and supportive. She also has an incredible work ethic to get better and will be a great addition to our program.”
Rabman was the winner of the 2019 USTA Girls 14s National Championships at the Rome Tennis Center and the 2021 16s Easter Bowl Champion at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
“We are so excited for Thea to join our program,” says Associate Head Coach Tyler Thomson. “She’s very passionate about getting better and about being a Tar Heel. Thea’s game is really versatile, and it will be fun to coach her and to see her grow.”
Rabman currently attends P.D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington, N.Y., playing #1 singles for the Vikings under head coach Shane Helfer. She has helped lead the Vikings to a 32-match winning streak and a Long Island Championship.
The daughter of Louis and Heid Rabman, Theodora has a twin brother, Davin, and sister, Natasha.
