Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD- The No. 58 Maryland Terrapins defeated Michigan State 4-1 on Sunday.
Michigan State opened the match taking the No.1 doubles match 6-3.
Despite a late push from Selma Cadar and Kallista Liu Michigan State’s Liisa Vehvilainen and Marley Lambert took the No. 2 doubles match 6-4 to secure the doubles point and a 1-0 lead for the Spartans.
Maryland had a strong start to singles play, sweeping the first set of each singles match.
The Terps got on the board with a singles win from Diya Challa in the No.5 singles match winning 6-1, 6-1.
Following Challa’s win Maria Budin and Minorka Miranda pushed the Terps ahead 3-1 winning the No. 4 and No. 2 singles matches. In the No. 6 singles match Francesca Feodorov clinched the win for Maryland, winning her match 6-3, 6-3.
With the win the Terrapins improve their home record to 7-1.
