Tennis Wraps Up Play at ITA Regionals


PRINCETON, N.J. – The Rutgers women’s tennis team ended competition at ITA Regionals on Sunday morning.  

“It was difficult to lose so many tiebreakers this weekend,” head coach Hilary Ritchie said. “However, there were a lot of good things to take away from this weekend. The team will continue to work on being offensive and dictating points.” 

Doubles  

The pair of Tara Chilton/Mai Nguyen dropped an extremely close 8-7 (5) decision to St. John’s in the quarterfinals.  

Singles 

Jackeline Lopez fell in the round of 16 to Princeton, 6-4, 6-0, her first loss of the fall season.

Haakansson/Bouzgarrou (St. John’s) def. Tara Chilton/Mai Nguyen 8-7 (5) 

Singles

Leena Bennetto (Princeton) def. Jackeline Lopez 6-4, 6-0
