The Tigers could not continue the momentum into singles play. Senior Romary Cardenas Rifka contested in the No. 4 spot and could not walk away with the win after two hard-fought sets, 6-2, 7-5.

Mizzou is penciled to travel to No. 15, the University of Alabama, on Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m. in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to continue their road streak to continue their SEC action.

HEAD COACH BIANCA TURATI

I think Auburn played some very quality tennis today in singles and doubles. I was impressed, and they did not give us many chances. They played aggressively and never slowed down. We must give them credit and accept they were better than us today. We competed hard, but that clearly wasn’t enough. We must keep working hard at practice, especially on serves and returns, because that made the difference today. They were able to win a higher percentage of points with those first two shots than us. We need to work on being more effective early in the point to have better chances when we face the top 15 teams.
