Tennis Falls at Northwestern – Rutgers University Athletics

 EVANSTON, Ill. — No. 75 Rutgers women’s tennis (9-4, 0-2 B1G) fell to No. 45 Northwestern (10-4, 1-0 B1G), 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Combe Tennis Center.
 
Doubles
 
The Wildcats earned themselves an early lead in the dual after clinching the doubles points. NU won sets on the first and third courts to secure the round.
 
Singles
 
Northwestern earned straight-sets victories on courts No. 1, 3, and 4 to clinch the team victory.
 
At the suspension of play, Yana Gurevich was up one set to none in her match. The graduate student was on the verge of a singles win, as she held a four-game lead in the second frame.
 
Minchae Kim was also in the hunt for a B1G singles win, holding a 4-6, 6-0, 2-0 edge over the Wildcats’ No. 6 singles when play ended.
