Tennis Concludes Day One at Hall of Fame Invitational


NEWPORT, R.I. — The Rutgers women’s tennis team opened its fall 2023 campaign at the Hall of Fame Invitational in Newport, Rhode Island on Friday. Two pairs of Scarlet Knights took the grass courts at the Tennis Hall of Fame, falling to Georgetown and Dartmouth.
 
The duo of Arina Valitova and Daira Cardenas battled against Georgetown’s McHaley Ho and Chloe Bendetti, pushing the match to three sets after dropping the first. The pair of Hoyas took the eventual win, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8.
 
In the second match of the day, Chloe Brown and Minchae Kim took on Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Katie Weber of Dartmouth, falling 6-3, 6-4 to the Big Green.
