Tennis Announces the Signing of Zoe Lazar for Spring 2025


COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri head tennis coach Bianca Turati announces the Signing of Zoe Lazar on Wednesday, Dec. 11. Lazar will join the squad this season in time for the 2025 spring slate.

Zoe Lazar attended Colegio Divisadero in her hometown of Pinamar, Buenos Aires. There, she played 30 ITF matches, winning 25 of them, for a win rate of 83% her senior year. Winning titles in both J100 and J60. Lazar had a 100%-win rate, winning both matches she played in Hacidendo Tennis. The titles were Haciendo Tennis Stage One and Hacidendo Tennis Stage 16. 

“Our whole team is thrilled about Zoe joining our Mizzou tennis program soon,” said Turati. “I have no doubts that Zoe will enjoy her time here and make a great, positive impact from the very beginning. Zoe is from Argentina and left-handed. She has been playing at a very high level lately, and she has all the qualities and skills as a player to be successful and help the team in the future. I love Zoe’s strong personality, how determined she is and the fact that she always smiles. She will be a perfect fit with the rest of the group. Welcome, Zoe! Hasta Luego!”

The Buenos Aires native has represented Argentina five times in the South American Championship, the IC Rod Laver Challenge and Finals. Lazar was No. 1 in all junior categories and was the Under 14 Master Champion. Her greatest athletic experience was representing Argentina in the World Cup, and she enjoyed how special that moment was playing with other players from different countries and continents. 

On selecting Mizzou, Lazar stated that what made the University of Missouri stick out compared to other school and programs, “What stood out to me the most was the amazing atmosphere. The tennis players are truly incredible, and it’s clear that the school fosters a strong sense of community and support.” 

UP NEXT

The Tigers will open their spring slate with the FIU Hidden Duals in Miami, Fla. The Black and Gold will begin play on Jan. 9 and wrap up competition on Jan. 12 at PayCargo Tennis Complex.
