Tennessee Concludes Second Day of Wake Forest Invitational


WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.  Members of Tennessee’s tennis team concluded the second day of the Wake Forest Invitational, notching a doubles win and three singles victories at Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
 
In doubles action, freshmen duo Filip Apltauer and Filip Pieczonka logged a 6-4 win over Wake Forest’s Suresh and Nathan.
 
On the singles courts, three Vols notched their second singles win of the weekend. Graduate Angel Diaz rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Wake Forest’s Thursfield, while junior Chris Li took down Nathan 6-4, 6-2. Newton, competing in his first collegiate event, defeated Chang 7-6(7), 7-6(6), in straight hard-fought sets.
