EVANSTON, Ill – Northwestern Athletics will offer complimentary admission to fans for the home competitions of 10 varsity teams during the 2022-23 seasons. With a focus on the continued engagement of the Evanston and greater Chicagoland communities, fans of all ages will have the opportunity to experience college sports at the highest level on and around campus this year.
“It will always be our priority to offer affordable opportunities for families and fans to experience Wildcats athletics,” said Tyler Jones, Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Revenue Generation and Strategic Initiatives. “This strategic approach removes financial barriers of paid admission and provides a broader population of the local community access to our campus to enjoy the absolute best that college athletics has to offer. We’re fortunate to have outstanding student-athletes, coaches and teams vying for championships at the highest level of competition. It’s our responsibility to pack their respective venues and create a home advantage that enhances everything about their competitive experience here at Northwestern.”
Complimentary admission will be offered for regular-season, home events for Wildcats fencing, field hockey, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, and men’s and women’s tennis.
There also is no charge for parking on weekends, and weekdays at select venues. Once in the venue, fans can participate in free promotions and special giveaways and take advantage of special offers for concessions for select games. After the game, many teams host meet-and-greets with student-athletes and coaches, and offer additional exclusive fan experience opportunities for special games.
The first opportunity for the community for a free front-row seat to NCAA Division I competition will be Thursday, August 25, when Wildcats soccer hosts a doubleheader at Martin Stadium. The women welcome SIU-Edwardsville to the shores of Lake Michigan at 4:30pm CT, and the men host Chicago State at 7:30pm CT.
