STAYING PERFECT
The Hokies are a perfect 5-0 on the year and will look to continue that pace heading into this weekends non-conference slate. Tech has yet to be seriously challenged with three consecutive sweeps and four total through five matches. Tamara Barad Itzhaki, Katie Andreini and Özlem Uslu lead the team in singles victories with both earning 5-0 records, respectively. Uslu has shined as a freshman with a majority of her wins coming on Court 2 including a 6-1, 6-1 win on Court 1 against Radford. In doubles, Semra Aksu and Barad Itzhaki have played excellent tennis compiling a 4-0 record for the Hokies.
49ers
Charlotte will host the Hokies coming off a two match win streak including a sweep in their most recent match against Gardner-Webb. Senior Marguax Maquet has played her way to a 5-2 mark this season including a ranked victory against No. 117 Xinyu Cai, 79-67, 5-7, 6-2. Senior Ruxi Schech directs Court 1 for the 49ers earning a 3-2 record with a win over No. 102 Selma Cadar this fall.
Pirates
ECU will travel to Blacksburg following a tough defeat at the hands of Georgetown, 4-3. This season the Pirates are 2-3 with victories against N.C. Central and Longwood. Ines Bachir holds down Court 2 producing a 3-2 start to the season. Alongside Alisha Hussain, the pair has proven to be the bright spot in Greenville with four wins in five total matches this season.
