THE FLATS – Three members of the Georgia Tech men’s tennis team have been nationally recognized in the most recent ITA Division I Men’s Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
Andres Martin, Marcus McDaniel and Keshav Chopra have continued to represent Tech in the ITA poll for their contributions to the team as top singles and doubles players.
The highlight of this week’s poll for the Jackets is Martin and McDaniel breaking into the Top 20 of the doubles teams list. Moving up six spots, the Tech duo has been named the 15th best doubles pair in the nation. Martin and McDaniel are 9-2 in dual match competition, winning nine of their last 10 matches. The pair of Jackets has helped Tech clinch the doubles point in seven out of 16 matches during this spring season.
All three Jackets have maintained spots on the Top 125 singles players list. Martin sits at the No. 46 with a 12-4 dual match record, including four wins against nationally-ranked opponents. No. 68 McDaniel has a 12-3 dual match record, the best on the team, and has won seven of his last 10 singles matches. With a 10-5 dual match record and 9-4 record at the No. 3 position, Chopra has moved up to No. 74 on the list.
